As students and faculty return to Stillwater, they are going to find a new face in the Gardiner Gallery. Jordan Griffis (OSU ’10) is our most recent addition to the OSU Museum of Art team, filling the role of Museum/Gallery Assistant. Jordan stood out from an impressive group of candidates for her strong writing skills, extensive public relations experience, and her background in and enthusiasm for the arts. We are thrilled to welcome Jordan onto the Museum staff team! Here’s what she has to say about joining the project:
I grew up in rural southwest Oklahoma and got my bachelor’s from OSU in communication/journalism. My work experience is mostly in print journalism and public relations. I’ve done internships with Oklahoma-based publications and I’ve done a public relations internship for an art gallery in downtown Oklahoma City. Most recently, I was working at the Fine Arts Institute in Edmond to coordinate class enrollment.
I’m so excited to be able to blend my background (and interests!) in art and media/communications all together in this new job opportunity. I had a wonderful experience as a student at OSU and couldn’t imagine leaving, so to come back to Stillwater and serve OSU through this opportunity is an honor. I look forward to many more years at Oklahoma State and with the OSU Museum of Art.
