Celebrate Labor Day—and the month of September!—with art

I have to admit it: Labor Day comes as a relief to me after the first frantic weeks of classes each Fall. I hope that you took some time this weekend to relax from work, and enjoy art (alongside the start of the OSU football season!).

The Gardiner Gallery is closed on Labor Day, but we have some great events coming up in the next few weeks:

Friday, September 7, 9:30am: come to our workshop and learn how to use the OSU Art Collection and Gardiner Gallery exhibitions in your classes!

Tuesday, September 11, 6pm: learn about Oklahoma faculty artists and art at OSU from Mark White, Curator of the Fred Jones, Jr., Museum of Art at the University of Oklahoma and our guest speaker to kick off the Scavenger Hunt!

Thursday, September 13, noon: hear my thoughts about the current exhibition, “The Influence of Oklahoma,” in the Gardiner Gallery at noon. The show stays up until September 21—don’t miss it!

Thursday, September 27, noon: Art History professor Shaoqian Zhang launches the second annual faculty roundtable series, where you can hear a little bit about research by art historians at OSU—each Thursday at noon.

Thursday, September 27, 5pm: join us for the opening of the annual Faculty Exhibition, where you can ask the faculty about their work in person!

For complete details about these events and more throughout the semester, check the OSU Museum of Art’s website, which has a full calendar of events.
